  • DATA Centres
  • Comms Rooms
  • Telecommunication facilities
  • UPS Rooms
  • Medical facilities
  • FM200 is waterless, gas based suppression system, which discharge into the risk within 10 seconds depending upon configuration for discharge
  • FM200 is also known as HFC227ea suppresses fire immediately
  • HFC227ea (formed from elements hydrogen, fluorine and carbon) remove the elements of fire triangle (Oxygen, Heat and Fuel)
  • FM200 gas is transparent, colourless and safe for human but may cause frostbite if liquid discharge or escaping vapour contacts the skin
  • Fire Projects has done sevaral designing to installation of FM200 with after sales service
  • Based on infrastructure and requirement we give our expert opinion to prepare BOQ

Complete solution consists following components and accessories required for installation:

FM200 storage components:
  • Cylinder assembly for FM200 chemical agent gas
  • Cylinder brackets

FM200 Distribution components:

  • Discharge nozzles
  • Piping for cylinder and nozzles

Slave components:

  • Pneumatic valve actuators
  • Actuation check valve
  • Vent check
  • Actuation hose
  • Fitting for cylinder (salve arrangement)

Trim components:

  • Pressure gauge
  • Connection fittings
  • Low-pressure supervisory switch
  • Electric valve actuator
  • Manual valve actuator

Supplemental components:

  • Discharge pressure switch
  • Manifold check valve
  • Complete equipment for multi-cylinder configuration
  • Control Panel : It monitor the condition of all connected devices like electric actuator, detectors, warning device, cylinder pressure, manual release and abort stations
  • Optional : VESDA System with control panel

Advantages of an FM200 – Fire suppression system:
  • It react very fast on electrical, flammable liquid fire and suppress fire from infrastructure
  • It save infrastructure from major damage by fire result in lower repair cost
  • Refilling of HFC227ea – FM200 is simple and cost effective
  • Depending upon size of infrastructure, FM200 occupy less space on given infrastructure
  • Compare to other suppression system, FM200 is environment friendly and does not affect stratospheric ozone layer
  • FM200 leaves no residue and safe to use for occupied safe
  • FM200 suppression system is accepted by worldwide including developed and developing nations

  • Stored as a gas within the cylinder assembly
  • FM Approved
  • ULC Listed

Other details:
  • With the big push toward "Green", Fire Projects recommend inert gasses which have become a good choice as they are the most green of all of the Clean Agents
  • Inert gasses are defined as using one or more of the gasses Nitrogen, argon, or helium
  • CO2 is also found in one of the inert gas blends. Inert gasses work by removing the oxygen in the hazard to a point where it will not support a fire, but still high enough to support life
  • Design considerations when using inert gasses are pressure venting and volume
  • It is critical to design the system to achieve the correct concentration, and not remove too much oxygen in the room
  • Plus, venting of inert gasses is important as it displaces the air volume in the hazard area
  • Fire Projects can assist in determining which agent is best suited to protect the hazard area (includes detection and control for the system)
  • The air we breathe has approximately 21% of Oxygen
  • Oxygen is the key factor in sustaining a fire and the key factor in keep us alive too
  • By removing the oxygen, we will certainly extinguish a fire, but that comes with obvious problems
  • How do we sustain life at the same time
  • Fires need more than 15% Oxygen to combust
  • Anything below this level of oxygen will not be enough for a fire to sustain combustion
  • Luckily, we only need 12% plus of oxygen to survive and this is where the answer lies
  • To extinguish a fire and sustain life, we need to reduce oxygen from 21% (assuming were at sea level) to below 15%, but not less than 12%
  • This will extinguish a fire and sustain life at the same time

Inert Gas Fire Suppression systems are commonly found with the following blends and names:-

  • Inergen fire suppression - IG541
  • Argon/nitrogen fire suppression - IG55

Inergen fire suppression - IG541:

  • Inergen fire suppression agent is made up of 50% Argon, 42% Nitrogen and 8% Co2
  • The Co2 in this blend helps us absorb oxygen into your blood cells
  • By doing this it decreases the risk of the symptoms described above
  • Co2 is also known to increase our heart beat rate and also induce hyper ventilation
  • This gas clearly suggests an advantage over the other inert gas fire suppression systems, but there is a down side to this
  • If the protected space is filled with toxic bi-products of combustion, the hyper ventilating will introduce more toxins and increase the risk of other side effects

Argon/nitrogen fire suppression - Commonly known as IG55 fire suppression:

  • IG55 fire suppression is a balanced mix of 50% Argon & 50% Nitrogen
  • The fire suppression agent provides good buoyancy, which keeps it in the protected space for longer, thus optimising the suppression period
  • Select Fire Projects for new implementation of Inert fire suppression system is most effective way for small to medium size datacenter, UPS room, medical facilities and telecommunication facilities
  • We support our clients from Designing up to Commissioning up to AMC
